From Ashes to Fine Dust to Boils

Half the plagues that the Lord through Moses put on the Egyptians passed, but Pharaoh and his people still refused to release the Israelites. This happened next, "So the LORD said to Moses and Aaron, 'Take for yourselves handfuls of ashes from a furnace, and let Moses scatter it toward the heavens in the sight of Pharaoh. And it will become fine dust in all the land of Egypt, and it will cause boils that break out in sores on man and beast throughout all the land of Egypt'" (Exodus 9:8, 9).

The Lord used ashes from a furnace, perhaps from a furnace of Pharaoh, because Moses did this in the sight of Pharaoh, and then Moses threw the dust into the air, and the Lord multiplied the dust and it spread throughout the land of Egypt. The dust caused boils to erupt on everyone and on every animal.

Did Pharaoh understand the power of the God before whom Pharaoh refused to humble himself? How could Pharaoh be so stubborn as to refuse to let Israel go? Are you stubborn? Are you full of yourself? If you refuse to change, you have the heart of Pharaoh. If that be the case, please repent now before it is too late.
